My daughter and niece expressed an interest in knowing about their family history, so I decided to work on a family tree for both me and the wife.  To date, I have put in a lot of effort trying to identify our ancestors along with contacting current family members.  The effort has been both rewarding and incredibly frustrating.  Some of the family has been supportive, but many have no interest and one in particular has accused me of having "long covid" for even coming up with the idea of constructing a family tree.  In addition, one branch of the tree has refused to even discuss the topic and mentioned some past family feud of which myself and my siblings have no knowledge.  I am somewhat confused as to the rationale behind their conduct and saddened that this will prevent me from fully illustrating the family as I had hoped that others would continue this initiative when I am gone.  For now, the family tree as best I could is on the myheritage.com website and hope that this is a beginning that will lead to whatever healing needs to be done.
